For this week’s assignment, I decided to play with ‘copy’ function. I tried to flip vertically the video image in the last class’s flip horizontal video sketch.
Originally alternative visuals with images of top, right, left, right, left, right, right using four different copy cushions.
Originally, I tried to get the 4 alternative visual image with top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right to use the copy function.
But it was not easy because of scale function.
In flipped horizontal image(mirror image), 0 goes to -w and In flipped vertical image, height goes to -height.
I had to put the values in the exact position in p5 as I folded up in paper and drew a virtual image.
So, It took me a long time to get the flipped vertical image.
The location of the scale function was also important to obtain a copy image.
This Video image changes from flipped horizontally to flipped vertical whenever I click the mouse.
Also, I added to a second function and made 15 small split screens. as time goes by, the numbers of screens increasing until 15×15.
But it looks like that the function apply only to the half image.
my original intention was to make small split screens that were increasing symmetrically from the first flipped vertical image, but I couldn’t.
I don’t know if it’s because of the scale function, but the flipped video images couldn’t be applied to the entire screen.
Here is my sketch.
